Jung Da On was a smart but poor high school student when he met Sin Jae Min, who eventually became his tutor. When Da On could no longer afford a tutor, Jae Min urged him to study hard because he wanted them to attend the same university. While in university, when Da On felt brave enough to confess how he felt about Jae Min, Jae Min started dating Kim Su Hyeon. When crossing the road, a scooter nearly ran Da On over, so a stranger, Ju Seong Hyeon, tackled him to save him. Da On’s beloved watch, a gift from Jae Min, was damaged, creating bad feelings between the two.
